  • Feb. 18 - OverClocked ReMix becomes separate site with its own sub-domain, remix.overclocked.org, debuting its initial orange layout
  • July 14 - First Slashdotting

  • dedicated sections for chat, ReMixing, links, etc. with different color schemes for each
  • basic PHP-driven searching for ReMixes

2002

  • Jan. 24 - Forums migrated from wwwthreads CGI to phpBB
  • Q1 - Ormgas web radio station launched by Marco "ravon" Alanen
  • Mar. 18 - First in-depth article on VGM arrangement scene by Salon.com
  • Mar. 18 - Judges panel, after a community poll of ReMixers chose the most acceptable solution to handle the growing submission queue, officially begins evaluating submissions
  • Q1 - OverClocked ReMix v3 database-driven design prototypes, the first of which actually went live for a short while until djpretzel "was forced to realize how embarrassingly, well... abstract it was"
  • Q2 - OverClocked ReMix v3, with purple color scheme
  • Added headphones-and-SNES-gamepad graphic to existing Arkanoid-style logo, upgraded forums to phpBB, and more
  • Now database-driven, relational database structure created associations between games, ReMixes, composers, ReMixers, etc.
  • ReMixes retagged with ID3v2 tags matching database info
  • Veteran ReMixer McVaffe helped test and provided feedback on the final design, for which djpretzel is eternally grateful
  • Later, ReMixes were linked to their review threads, added downloads of game music format archives (e.g. NSF, SPC) for listeners to compare ReMixes to original music, added additional database fields, and switched underlying code from spaghetti PHP to XML/XSLT templating scheme

  • Clean-up of PHP, XHTML, CSS, and XSLT codebase OCR v3 initiated, forming consistent, clean base to build additional site functionality
  • Site completely XSLT templated, outside of the forums; design entirely dictated by CSS
  • All documentation moved out of flat files into MySQL, navigation and sorting options expanded and normalized

  • Jan. 03 - Sixth album, Chrono Trigger: Chrono Symphonic, released
  • May 29 - Seventh album, Super Street Fighter II Turbo: Blood on the Asphalt, released
  • June 03 - djpretzel's first signing appearance alongside video game industry professionals at Video Games Live in Philadelphia, PA
  • Aug. 04 - First convention appearance, Otakon in Baltimore, MD
  • Aug. 22 - Move from third-party hosting with ZTNet to self-funded dedicated hosting on LiquidWeb
  • Sep. 21 - First release of OC ReMixes on a commercial VGM album, Tommy Tallarico Studios' Earthworm Jim Anthology
  • Nov. 19 - Eighth album, Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Project Chaos, released
  • Dec. 30 - Forums migrated from phpBB to vBulletin

  • June 29 - djpretzel appears on-stage at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts at Video Games Live in Washington, DC
  • Aug. 06 - Upgraded to PHP 5
  • Sep. 14 - Ninth album, Final Fantasy VII: Voices of the Lifestream, released
  • Oct. 02 - Upgraded to MySQL 5
  • Q4 - OverClocked ReMix registered as an LLC
