Darkflamewolf and Jorito, you and your fancy-pants grandiose mega-collabs... you're not gonna DEPRIVE us of EDM on this here Final Fantasy VIII: SeeDs of Pandora album, YOU HEAR ME?!? Oh wait, it turns out Jorito and DFW are all about giving the people everything they want! You want EDM? We've GOT EDM, courtesy of newcomer duo Drakeld (Undervatten & Rasmus) providing, in their words, "a dramatic remix for a dramatic scene" with one of FF8's shortest tracks! Jorito articulately laid out the case for why you need to bear witness to this OCR debut:

"Cinematic yet with a strong sense of dread and foreboding. While the source is a very short track, Swedish dynamic duo Drakeld managed to flesh it out in a full remix, complete with genre overhaul. The driving beat and the repeating nature of the main arpeggiato push the track forward in a good way, and there's plenty of development on top of it to keep things interesting. I dig the atmospheric breakdown in the middle that gives us a bit of much needed breathing space before we dive into the land of high energy again."

Beefy, brute force music here, let's go! I'm feelin' the sound design from 2:00 for the extended break, as Jorito noted, and that switchup at 2:47 also gets a chef's kiss, just a couple of cool spots within a high octane thrill ride. Would you be shocked to hear that this one of album director DFW's favorites? If Jorito was advocating for you to try this impeccably produced piece in the first place, Darkflamewolf quickly explains why, after the first spin, you'll also run this back:

"I've always been a fan of breakneck beats and songs that employ them well. This one has just enough breathing room in between sections to give your ears a breather before slamming you back into the beat and running off with you. This wild ride is what makes it my favorite."

Speaking of "wild", as soon as I saw the name Drakeld, all I heard in my mind was Soulja Boy yelling "Draaake? DRAAAAAKE???" (NSFW) about having his whole f***kin' flow copied, but I digress. :-D The flow for this actual arrangement?? It's alllll the way live. Do you need your beats heavy? Your rides thrilling? Come on through, this one's for you! :-)

This remix does a good job of bringing an intense vibe that makes you feel like you are running out of time for some sort of challenge. The sidechaining is super swoorvy and cool. ?
