As we put the finishing touches on our upcoming Golden Sun album & prepare for release next week, we've got another superb arrangement from RebeccaETripp, with assistance from Nabeel:

"This is my arrangement of "Another World of Beasts" from Final Fantasy 6, originally composed by Nobuo Uematsu. This is a redux of a much older cover of this theme that I created back in 2005! The mixing, mastering, and VST work was done by my friend Nabeel Ansari."

Rebecca's production skills have improved a ton since we started featuring her music, but Nabeel's got more than a few extra tricks up his sleeve, and hearing one of her arrangements with his production+ is a treat. This dark, suspenseful, symphonic take on an FF6/Uematsu classic will send chills down your spine; Rexy evaluated:

"This track is so pretty! Arrangement-wise, it's one of Rebecca's best yet, and let me explain how. The source is dominant throughout, with some playing around with the harp arpeggio and beautiful harmonies - check. Its structure placed the straight run through at 0:38-1:51 with further development on both sides plus well-crafted layers underneath - check. And the decision to emphasize the fifth beat for the melody rather than the sixth in the source adds a more graceful feeling to it - triple check, and an echo of a similar idea from Tchaikovsky's "Arabian Dance" from The Nutcracker Suite. It's no slouch on a technical level, either - the articulations are appropriate for this softer direction, the mixdown is clean, and the humanization has a lot of overall care. Nabeel did a fantastic job with the mastering and brought Rebecca's idea to a consistent level for posting, and so I'm absolutely in favor of seeing it on the front page. Wonderful stuff!"

There's especially nice depth & detail to the softer portions of this, sequencing/emotion in the part-writing is lovely, and the suspenseful, dark, & slightly spooky atmosphere is richly evoked. Great stuff!

This is somehow both mysterious and alluring, yet creepy and unsettling. Fantastic job on this remix! It was a treat to listen to :)

Eido..a..what lons?
Esper? You mean Espers? Eidolons were a different class of summons that came later in the Final Fantasy series.

Eidolons are the souls of dead people turned into summon creatures.
Espers are living creatures that have summon powers.
