So welcome everyone - today marks the start of the project, open to all who are capable of executing Arek & my vision for a rearrangement project on the music of Lufia 1 & 2. We are looking for primarily rock/metal/electronic driven music, although we will consider other interpretations on a track & artist basis. Don't let our preferred genres for this project deter you from checking out the source material! There are still other tracks that we'll probably want outside of our primary focus.

The first deadline is August 19th for a rough WIP, with others listed in the project forums.

For the tracks, I will be using the names from the OST found here: http://vgmdb.net/album/3061

The OST tracklisting is a bit hard to parse out, but the first 35 tracks are from Lufia 1, and up to the end of Disc 2 is Lufia 2

Here are two Youtube playlists that can assist in finding the tracks:

Lufia 1: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=29D38A6582CF354E

Lufia 2: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=570FB2451D3BB65C

Here are some RSNs:

Lufia 1 - http://snesmusic.org/v2/profile.php?profile=set&selected=1541

Lufia 2 - http://snesmusic.org/v2/profile.php?profile=set&selected=1543

Here are the SPCs if you're having trouble with the RSNs like me:

Lufia 1 - http://www.zophar.net/music/spc/lufia-the-fortress-of-doom.html

Lufia 2 - http://www.zophar.net/music/spc/lufia-2-rise-of-the-sinistrals-estpolis-biography-i-.html

You can find SPC players here: http://snesmusic.org/v2/players.php or http://www.zophar.net/utilities/spc.html

Keep in mind that RSNs are compressed files - WinRAR can extract them.

Bahamut and I have been speaking for a while about this project and I am very happy to finally see it get started.

We will definitely be working hard to get the games a project that it deserves.

If you are interested in joining this, please do not hesitate to contact either Bahamut or myself.

Here is to seeing another great project made on this site :)

Battle #2 from Lufia: and the Fortress of Doom.

SPC title is Boss Fight.

I can easily have a WIP before august.

We had the discussion earlier, but personally I don't think you're ready to handle such a track adequately and have decided I absolutely cannot have it for the project. You're more than welcome to try the track for yourself though.

I'm a huge fan of these OSTs, and I'd be interested in possibly joining. My usual style probably isn't as aggressive as you guys probably are looking for, but I have done more up beat stuff before.

I'm interested in 1-21 Gate of Journey (Door to the Journey) or 1-11 Ending Motif both from Lufia II. I'll send you samples if you want. Let me know.

Since there are two games that use the same theme, why don't you guys just have two people doing the theme.

Let Suzu do one, let Hemo and sixtoes do the other. There is like five second difference in the sources ha.

No really, that's like the best song out of Lufia ever, so why not have it done twice, you even have a good excuse to do it!

The problem it creates is that people will compare the two tracks, and it does the less popular one an injustice. I'd like to avoid that situation if possible.

Honestly I think Suzu and sixto/Hemo are all very talented, if they have a problem with comparisons, that's one thing, but if they don't (because people are going to compare whatever they want anyway) then it really shouldn't be a problem. To me it'd be apples and oranges.

Here's an example - do you remember when the Disco Dan & McVaffe tracks were posted on the site? It was Triforce Majeure and The Darkness and the Light, respectively. The comparisons made drove McVaffe not to submit anything for a while if I remember correctly.
