TO EVERYONE WHO GOT LINKED HERE FROM YOUTUBE, NOIR6666 IS MY YOUTUBE ACCOUNT, THEREFORE THE VID ON THAT ACCOUNT IS THE ONLY GENUINE ONE, EVERYONE ELSE WHO'S TAKING CREDIT FOR THAT SONG IS LYING. TINDECK IS DOWN FOR NOW SO YOU CAN'T DOWNLOAD THE LINKS BELOW BUT I'VE UPLOADED THE FILE HERE TO PROVE THAT THIS IS REALLY DONE BY ME: http://www.speedyshare.com/536621972.html

Because this source obviously hasn't been remixed enough I've decided to try my hand at it. I'll add an intro later when I feel like it, enjoy ~<3

PERFORMANCE (live recorded audio/MIDI parts)

[X] Timing not tight enough

[X] Wrong notes, general sloppiness

STRUCTURE

[X] Too short

PERSONAL COMMENTS (positive feedback, specifics on checklist criticisms, any other thoughts)

Much better tone this time around compared to other things I've heard from you. Whatever setup changes/additions/anything new you've done, don't change it again because this sound great.

Only issues are the somewhat sloppiness of it (wrong note at :24, coming in just a tad late at :38, etc), and the repetitive harmonization at the beginning. For some reason the harmonization works, but only for so longer. Might want to think of starting out with just one line doubled up, and then change into the harmonization after a bit.

Otherwise this is probably going to kickass.

Glad you took my advice on the harmonization part, it sounds much more awesome. I've always found that with harmonizing leads, it always has a lot more emotional emphasis if you bring it in a bar after non-harmonization.

I can't see this not getting a pass once it's fully realized length-wise. Production seems spot on.

A+!

+ 1 minute, added instrumentation in the form of a Shamisen and a Cello. I forgot to cut off the guitar samples at the end so ignore that :P

My pc is buckling under the load so I'll have to make a seperate project file for the soloing sections +outro (and possibly the intro section) but I think this is almost done in terms of arrangement. :)

The harmonized melody sounded tight. Are you still using broomstick for your bass?

The timing of the guitars was a tiny bit off at the end.

Excellent job sounding sick.

How do you do that guitar effect at 1:00. Is that a whammy bar on the low string?

Edit: I also can't hear the kick drum very well.

I played live bass this time :)

I quickly slide up and down along the low e-string on both rhythm guitars

Edit: I also can't hear the kick drum very well.

Yah I don't know, I don't want it to be too prominent, because it's not really intended to be metal :P

This remix kicks ass. Production and arrangement is all there. I agree the cello could be brought out more since it takes over immediately after the bright lead you've got for most of the piece. The only thing nagging me, correct me if I'm wrong, is the notes in the melody that you're playing. Is there not a D natural (I think it's a D natural...) in the first phrase of the melody? It's around 0:30-0:31 where it feels like it's missing. Not too sure if it was a creative liberty you took or something unintentional, but my ear worms are pushing me against it. lol, such a small nitpick in such a great thing you got going here. Hope for the best m8! Excellent work!

You have great ears, I DID change the melodies around a bit, though it's probably not entirely on purpose. I transcribe the melodies by ear, sometimes I make mistakes and then I decide that keeping the mistake would sound better :P

Comments on the Cello are noted, Tweek told me on IRC he'd be happy to sequence it with EWQLSO for me in the final version, so it'll be all good. :)

Very good track even while not my style at all. I appreciate the title. :)

The cello does sound really really wierd, the first note sounds like a very bad horn, but I can see it's already being taken care of. Koto sounds funny as well, fairly cheap. I'd maybe try playing with the sound a little, see if any effects (echo stuff, chorus) would spice it up. That's just me. Maybe even try to achieve a similar sound/feel with an effected clean guitar. I'd also try to foreshadow the koto and the cello before they come in, it feels like it jumps from the bushes a bit (is that a proper saying, heh?). That might be what you're after, of course.

Guitar playing is good. It's not the tightest, but I'd say it's tight enough, it's spirited and the sound is good. Good work!

Sounds good so far, just needs to be zazzed up a bit in the rhythm guitar department. It's just the same standard practice riff over and over, gotta wank that out. Also, try to cut down on the use of distorted guitars throughout the entire song, the material is very open to a softer section where you can introduce lots of musical concepts that you can expand on in a later verse of the song (like, writing a slow clean riff while you mellow out and give the listener some time to absorb the music, and then later reintroducing that riff as a faster, palm muted badass!)

Also, check out Ashane's version and steal some of his ideas, no remix of this song will ever get close to his, so it's okay to steal from it.

On that note...

I think the last 13 seconds might be played oddly. I don't really know, but it just feels slow or something. Or maybe it starts slow and catches up.

Can't really tell, though. It might just be awkwardness from the song suddenly becoming a solo.

I have explained it already ;)

Gonna have to make this quick, I made the final part in a seperate project file and I haven't had the time to put the two together yet so I'm posting it here seperately. As per suggestions I have added a softer section with clean guitars and four on the floor bassdrum as well as a synth solo (the guitar solo will come before that but I still have to record it). There's some timing issues and a few minutes of silence I forgot to cut off, but meh. Here's to being almost done!
