HOLY SHIT is this great. This makes my top ten easy. I can't say enough good things, but let me put it this way: I was going to ReMix this track, from Super Mario Bros. 2 (aka Doki-Doki Panic in Japan), but now I'm not . . . why? . . . well, it would most likely sound something like this. I love this ReMix. I think this is the best techno / dance adaptation of this theme I can imagine. I'm gonna be listening to this for decades to come. Yes, yes, yes . . . . I REALLY think you should download this one. Really. This is the first submission from Sirus, whose original material can be found at his site below. I'm not even going to bother describing the mix because you just need to download it, period.

Older and dated and it shows, but honestly, still fun to listen to in it's simplicity and wasn't grating on my ears, so good enough for me. Good energy carries this for me, so it's fine for me, but just that.

technically a bit dated, but there's a lot of personalization brought to this one via effects and processing, and the arrangement is pretty nice with the second theme. The transition back to "above ground" was effective and cool.

A fun melody creatively applied. Pretty nice stuff.

This mix brings me way back to when GTA3 had only just been released for the PC, and I would drive around Liberty City with a select few songs playing on the .mp3 radio station. 'Insomnic' was THE song to bash around a virtual city with.

That was a long time ago, and I still think it holds up. It definately doesn't have the technical or even the creative prowess of post-standardised OCR, but it has a hell of a lot more fun than many mixes. And come on, that underground section is cool, inspired stuff. A long time and a lot of music has passed over me, eroding my memory, yet I still remember it very well. It's a personal (perhaps even a guilty) favourite from classic Overclocked.

Very great remix. If I had to pick only one remix to have, it'd be this one. I really like how it starts in with a nice jingle to a techno-ish theme, and then brings in some low notes to keep me listening. 6/5. Yeah, I'm bold...

I wouldn't say it's 'great'. It's definatley enjoyable to say the least.

This song is great, no other way to put it, well done. Liked the midsection and the return to the basic melody at the end, very good.

I love this song because it really lifts your mood. I don't know, this is a fun song, and the transition in this song is excellent.

Just because it isn't full of super-fancy and complex loops and sounds doesn't mean its not a good song. The greatness of this song comes out of its simplicity. It takes a really good tune and gives it some flavor. Insomnic does a great job of putting the spice on this awesome meal of a song.

Wow! This is a fantastic remix! I completely agree with djpretzel in that this is certainly in my top ten, if not 5, favorite songs on this site! Really great! Fanatastic! Superflous! (you get the idea...)

Wow is this lame. Original song but with techno patches and a techno beat. Instrumentation is almost completely unchanged except for the weak bass line. Is this really all it takes to get on the site? It sounds like something an amateur would post in the WIP forum after spending 30 minutes with the FruityLoops demo.

Are you aware that this was posted before a panel or a standard existed? This would NEVER pass today.

I agree. This is crap. I'm so glad we have higher standards now.

First of all, the original track is bouncy. To make a super bouncy remix is just plain annoying. There are virtually no original variations on or even rearrangements of the theme.

Virtually every element of this mix seems bothersome and repetitive. Nothing develops, nothing builds, nothing fades, and all that's here is a dynamicless, pointless, droning mix (in that respect it reminds me of 80s metal).

When you analyze the track patterns closely, you can easily see that this was a practice mix using FL studio. The exact same set of loops is used everywhere, and the only background effect loops mindlessly without any correlation to the music.

whoa, djps dying over this song

Its great, its got djps style but i think he should still do a remix of this as well!

My main complaint with the song, the kick drum sounds more like an instrument that isn't in tune with the rest of the song rather than a kick drum
